Hard work and responsibility is what parenting is all about. You have to be willing to go the distance and make your child as well adjusted and happy as possible. This is sometimes frustrating and can be difficult to make happen. The demands of parenting can cause parental stress.
The demands of a child can be very difficult on some parents. It is a hard adjustment to make for some and it will be stressful on the entire family if it is not dealt with in the right way. Parental stress only gets worse as the children grow older. It is important to know how to cope and deal with this type of stress.
Children will have problems in school and in changing relationships as well. It is important to make sure that we are giving them the advice and help that they need in order to make the right decisions in life and to help them cope with the pressures of everyday life as a kid.
It is easy for a parent to get overwhelmed by all the problems that can happen with parenting. Some parents may start to resent their child because of the sacrifices that they have made for them. When this starts to happen, it can bring stress on the relationship. It is important to seek the right treatment to help with this problem and to get it under control before the problem persists.
When you are undergoing parental stress, practicing patience is key. Take time to think things over before your speak. When you are mad, walk away from the situation and take a time out. This will help you to cool down so that you are not unloading your stress on your child and making the situation worse.
Never bring stress home from work. If you are having problems at work, you need to leave them behind when you come home. This is important so that you are not making more problems from the work related stress and you can make it better for children at home. Take time to breath and relax before you come home form work. This will help relieve the stress before your walk in the door.
Remember to breathe. When you are experiencing parental stress, take time to breath deeply. This will help to relax you and get you back on track so that you can continue to be a good parent and provide a relaxing atmosphere for the entire family.

High Self Esteem Tips
May 24, 2009
Low self-esteem affects almost everyone at some point. We all have days when we feel that we can’t do anything right. But for some, that way of thinking becomes persistent, and it can take a toll in numerous ways.
Improving our self-esteem makes life more enjoyable for us, and it can even have a positive effect on those around us.
Here are some high self esteem tips:
* Exercise - Exercising is beneficial to us in a lot of ways. It makes us healthier and stronger, and it can also make us feel better about ourselves. Physical activity decreases our levels of stress hormones and increases endorphins, which boost our mood. Exercising also gives us a feeling of accomplishment. These things can all contribute to better self-esteem.
* Learn how to take a compliment - Those with low self-esteem often downplay any compliments they receive. Learning to smile, saying “Thank you” and taking them to heart can make us feel better about ourselves.
* Forgive yourself - We all make mistakes, but sometimes we have trouble letting them go and moving on. This can contribute greatly to low self-esteem. When you mess up, don’t dwell on it. Apologize, do what you can to fix it, and get over it. It’s funny how other people are often more willing to forgive us than we are to forgive ourselves!
* Do something nice for yourself - Many of us just don’t take the time to do anything for ourselves, and as a result our self-esteem may suffer. Going to the spa, having lunch at our favorite restaurant, or participating in our favorite hobbies can all make us feel better about ourselves.
* Remember your strengths and accomplishments - If you’re having a particularly bad day, sit down and think about your strengths and things that you have accomplished. Writing them down is even better. Sometimes we just need to stop and remind ourselves that we do have positive qualities.
* Do something constructive - Speaking of accomplishments, accomplishing something new is a very effective way to raise our self-esteem. Whether it’s redecorating the living room or learning how to crochet, adding a new accomplishment to our repertoire will almost always make us feel better about ourselves.
* Meditate - Meditation leaves us refreshed and helps us put things into perspective. This can work wonders for our self-esteem.
* Get plenty of sleep - When you’re not well rested, chances are you’re not going to be in a very good mood. And if you already have self-esteem problems, that will only make them worse. So make sure you get an adequate amount of sleep each night.

Work Life Balance
May 17, 2009
As a mom you probably go through times in your life when you think you can’t possibly manage work and taking proper care of your family. In fact, there are probably times when you feel you’re not doing a good job at one or the other or maybe even both. Don’t despair! There is help for you whether you work from home or outside of the home, your family is large or small or you have other commitments like volunteer work.
Here are some tips for gaining more work life balance:
Time Management - Knowing where and how you spend your time is key maintaining work life balance. Start by keeping a calendar of all your activities. You can do this online, on a paper calendar or in a journal. Track everything from showering, exercise, meal preparation, driving time, and so on. You will probably see areas where you can cut some time out by doing certain activities while you’re waiting in line at the grocery store or riding in the car. There are lots of useful ways to spend idle time and you can figure those out as you fill out your calendar or journal.
Set Priorities - As women we often have a hard time saying “no” because it is in our nature to help others and want to be useful. However, you must know when to say “no” to those activities that don’t help you reach your family, personal or business goals. And even if the activity does in some way help you reach your goals, you will need to prioritize the activity according to its value or importance.
Don’t be Afraid to ask for Help - Another trap women tend to fall into is the “I can do it all” syndrome. For some reason society has taught women that they have to be “Super Mom” otherwise you’ll be seen as lazy or a bad mother. That is a lie! When you are feeling overwhelmed by work, family and kids, have a friend, relative or neighbor give you a hand by helping you clean your house, or taking the kids away for a couple of hours while you get some work done. Whatever the situation may be, don’t hesitate to ask for help.
These are just a few of the suggestions you’ll find in my report, Real Life Guidance to Balancing Work and Family. The “Real Life Guidance to Balancing Work and Family” report shows you how you can find a balance between work and family, without letting any of those balls you are juggling fall on the floor. Simplify Your Life
May 17, 2009
We live in such a fast paced world and finding ways to simplify your life can help to create a more relaxed and satisfying life for you and your family.
Simplicity involves freeing your time, money, and energy so that you can pay more attention to what is important to you.
Here are just a few tips on how to simplify your life:
1 - Control your time. Take a good hard look at your dialy schedule and then begin to tweak it so that it is more manageable. You may have to say “no” more often. It is amazing how cutting out just 1 activity a week can provide more down time for yourself.
2 - Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff. I know this is easier said than done, but learning to let things go once in awhile is key. So what if the house goes 1-2 days without getting vacuumed or the laundry is put on hold for an extra day. It is important to alleviate some stress that we put on ourselves to get ALL of those little things done at once.
3 - Get Help. If you get to the point where you are feeling overwhelmed with your personal and faimily obligations please get help. There are many places that offer babysitting swaps, you can hire a teenager to help with small cleaning tasks or go to a friend for support. Delegation of tasks is another way to get help. Be sure to use all of your resources and delegate some tasks out to others.
4 - Clear out the Clutter. I know you have heard this one before but I can’t stress it enough. Clearing out your clutter is a huge step in living a more simplified life. Make the time to go through your home and sell, donate, or throw out items that you no longer use. This is a large task, so don’t try to do it all in one day. Try to set a goal of doing some every week.
5 - Simplify your Meals. Start preparing dishes which will provide several meals. Stews, casseroles, and many other recipes are just as easy to prepare in large portions as they are to prepare in small portions. Meal planning is a money, sanity and time saver - what else could a busy person ask for? Learn how to create a great stree-free meal plan by reading this informative article on Meal Planning.
6 - Take Care of You. During the course of your day be sure to take out time to relax. Carve out at least 30 minutes a day to take a break, stretch or go for a short walk. Be sure that you are getting the proper amount of sleep so that you have the energy that you need to face each day.
Remember that your life is blessed with many different aspects. Keep them all in balance, and they will all be of much greater value to you. Learning to simplify your life is the 1st step in finding that balance that will keep you happy.

Personal Goal Setting
May 17, 2009
One of the hottest topics seems to be Personal Goal setting.. Setting good, clear goals is a powerful process for both your personal and professional well-being. By setting goals on a routine basis YOU decide what you want to achieve and then move step-by-step towards achieving these goals.
I always encourage women to make an effort to spend time setting sharp and clearly defined person goals. One of the beautifully empowering things about goal setting is that you can measure and take pride in the achievement you make as you get closer to your goals. By setting goals, you will also raise your self confidence as you recognize your ability and competence in achieving the goals that you have set.
The process of personal goal setting allows you to choose where you want to go in life. By knowing precisely what you want to achieve, you know what you have to concentrate on to do it.
Remember, your goals are the road maps that guide you and show you what
is possible for your life.
Here are a few action steps for you to take into consideration when working on setting and pursuing your personal goals:
Make sure you set goals that you can realistically reach. Striving to be perfect is not a realistic goal. Striving to eat healthier, exercise more..etc. is a realistic goal.
Break your big goals up into bite-sized chunks. If your ultimate goal is to launch a new website before September, break the goal down. Work 1st on asking for others to give you the opinions on possible webmasters, make a list of what you want your site to look like, contact certain webmasters, ask for price quotes etc. They key is to take small, thought-through steps to reach that ultimate goal.
Write your goals down and force yourself to be very specific about them. You can then refer back to your goals list and you can see how you are measuring up. It is an empowering feeling to set goals and achieve them.
Celebrate! When you achieve a goal or overcome a hurdle that brings you closer to that goal, CELEBRATE you and your accomplishment!
You can accomplish just about anything you ask of yourself. Make your personal goals specific and clear. When you know exactly what you intend to do, you’re well on your way to getting it done.
