Steps to Take For More Positive Thinking
September 29, 2010
If you are looking for a way to bring more optimism into your life and make life just a bit easier by easing your negative thinking and worry then I would suggest working on developing a more positive attitude. A positive attitude leads to happiness and success and can change your whole life.
Do you notice that you tend to bring into your life the things that you focus on the most. I am sure you know of at least one person who has a terrible attitude. This could be someone who is extremely negative, not fun to be around and would always complain about how her life is horrible and everything seems to go wrong. These kinds of people drain our positive energy.
Negative attitudes are contagious. They not only make you feel terrible but those around you will feel the strain as well. No one wants to hang out with a negative person.
The good thing is that positive attitudes are contagious too. The difference is that people do like to hang out with positive people because it makes everyone feel good about themselves.
If you want to be the kind of person that everyone wants to be with, here are 5 easy steps to help you achieve that:
1) Figure out what you love and do it. This includes activities you enjoy doing, hobbies, things you like to do in your free time and most importantly your job or career. If you start questioning yourself about how much joy and fulfillment you get from your job and realize that you no longer are happy then perhaps it’s time to consider a new career or options you can take to move to a new career. When you do things that make you happy, you feel better about yourself, have a positive outlook at life and you begin to project a positive attitude.
2) No matter what, expect the best. Although it seems easier to see the negative in every situation, turn around and look for the positive in everything. Make it a habit to expect the best out of every circumstance. Recite an affirmation, “Everything will work out great. Everything will fall into place. Today will be a happy day!” The more often you recite affirmations, the easier it will be for you to believe that positive things do happen.
3) Boost your self-esteem. Think positive thought and speak positive words to yourself everyday. I’m sure you have at one point of time talked down on yourself. Negative self-talk makes you feel hopeless, pessimistic and frustrated. Acknowledge your good qualities and stop focusing on the negative ones. You may not be perfect but you are a work in progress and on you’re way to greatness!
4) Compliment others. Take a moment to encourage others. Try to compliment the people you meet each day – both strangers and the usual people you see. Emphasize on the positive in others and you will be more likeable. If you have more people like you, then, you will like yourself more.
5) Be strong. Think about your strengths instead on focusing on your weaknesses. Thinking about your “failures” will only make you feel negative and pessimistic. Continue to affirm your strengths and talents everyday. This will help empower yourself and you will soon feel in control of every situation around you. Being in control promotes a positive attitude.

7 Reasons To Hire a Life Coach
September 21, 2010
You hire a coach to achieve your personal, spiritual, family and business Coachable Goals, much more effectively, more efficiently, more completely, with more fun, and in less time than any other human improvement process.
Life coaches assist you to: overcome obstacles and fears, focus on solutions, have someone to bounce ideas off, no matter how silly they may seem, discover truths about you, and how you can improve, accomplish more than you thought possible, and achieve balance in your personal, work and family lives. Your coach will UNLEASH YOU, to become the person you always wanted to be and were capable of becoming.
Why Hire a Coach?
1. You will set better goals that motivate you in a healthy way –
Most of us did not sign up for Goal Setting 101 in high school – probably because there was no such course. There should have been. Enter the coach, helping you to identify and set the goals that you really want, not the ones that are “shoulds,” pipedreams, that you’ve been recycling or that mirror the goals of your parents, society or Madison Avenue. Choosing the right goals for you is an art and the coach takes the necessary time to help you clarify your personal values, so that you have something really solid onto which to develop your goals. Value-based goals are naturally motivating, but takes good coaching to get to.
2. You’ll accomplish goals and tasks more quickly -
One of the reasons that people hire a coach is to save themselves time. Working with a coach, you learn to be more effective, efficient and productive in everything you do, including your job/business or personal projects. We humans are simply not that effective by nature, even if we think that we are. The coach has the tools and techniques to share with their clients so that things get done in less time. (Even the coaching process is efficient — on the phone, 1/2 hour a week, reasonable fee.)
3. You’ll make fewer mistakes in your business and/or personal life –
The old model of learning from your mistakes has deteriorated to be more like: How else will you learn if you don’t make mistakes? Too expensive, in our view. With a coach, you have a third eye, someone who’s been there and who has coached others in your situation, and an expert in getting the job done with the minimum of fuss (called learning curve, mistakes, errors in judgment, wrong tunnels, etc.). The costs (emotional, financial, time) of making mistakes has gotten very expensive in the past decade. A single mistake can ruin you in today’s hyper-paced business environment. Some clients use their coach as an inexpensive insurance policy.
Increase Your Profit
4. You’ll move up to the next level of your professional and person al life
Almost everybody is moving up the ladder of business success, personal development, awareness and well being. The coach can help you see where you are right now and point out ways to grow and get where you want to get to. Or, if you’re not even on the ladder, the coach can guide you to it and help you get started on your path.
5. You’ll likely make more money in your career, profession or business –
Clients don’t keep paying their coaches just for the fun of it. Coaching, like every other professional service, needs to improve the financial bottom line and it does. Coaches are trained to help clients to leverage their ability to make money, i.e., getting a raise, choosing a better career, starting a business, improving profitability, adding more value to their customers, proper pricing, productivity and others. Sure, coaching is personal, but it almost always includes a strong financial aspect.
6. You’ll be much more effective and influential with others -
Family, business and personal relationships. Communication makes life, life. A coach is an expert communicator and trains clients on how to come across better, relate well with others, listen aggressively, influence, coach, motivate and support others. There are over 100 communication and listening skills that clients can learn from a coach.
7 . You’ll have a better life, not just a better lifestyle –
The term Quality of Life has become overused in the past few years, but the trend of Americans seeking to create a much better life for themselves is accelerating. In fact, people are re-examining what they had assumed that a good life was (married, 2.3 kids, nice car, secure job, church on Sundays, 3 weeks of vacation a year) and are now creating their own life, often breaking the rules and flying in the face of conventional wisdom in the process. A coach has been trained in the Life Design process and has already made the kind of design changes in their life that his/her clients are just now beginning to make.

Tips For Staying Motivated
September 8, 2010
Let’s face it… every once in awhile we all could use a good old fashioned kick in the hiney! Many times we get stuck in a rut! Well, its time to get your hiking boots out because we are going climbing. Yes, we are going to climb out of our RUTS! Don’t laugh; just sit back, read, soak this all in then set it all into action!
We all have things that we do out of sheer comfort, routine or habit that we know we should stop doing.
Breaking the habits, traits and ways of life that hold us back or keep us stuck can be done with perseverance, practice and a slight change of pace. If you are stuck in a rut, start by taking a good look around you to examine the behaviors and mindsets you need to change. Next, commit to taking the necessary steps to get out of that rut and start living a more tranquil and liberated life.
Action Steps To Get You Going
State Your Goals – First you need clearly stated goals with deadlines; write them on paper then develop a strong desire to achieve those goals. W. Clement Stone and Napoleon Hill in their PMA Science of Success course state that if you know what you want and want it strongly enough, then you will surely get it.
Do something differently – With all of the things that you do daily, I am sure that most of it becomes the norm and seems to run on autopilot. Start incorporating one or two small changes into your day; perhaps it’s something new at dinnertime, a switch in our lunch routine, or a scenic route to the grocery store. Don’t worry about what the changes are or whether they are right or wrong. By stepping out of your routine, you are in a position to see things differently and to experience different results.
Add the Three F’s to your day – Fun, Fulfillment and Freedom! By adding the Three F’s to your day, you will become more empowered in your life. The feelings of having fun, being fulfilled, and enjoying freedom are powerful and can help you maximize your current position in life, move ahead, and become more alive.
Identify your obstacles – Ask yourself, “What obstacles are blocking me from moving forward?” Are the obstacles of your own making? Are there any external obstacles? Identify the factors over which you have no control and put them aside. Focus your energy and attention on the factors that you can control and make a point to address them. Too often, we are caught up in fighting issues that we simply have no power over and this can lead to feelings of discouragement, depression and frustration. Put your energy into what can be changed, and you will be encouraged and rejuvenated by the progress you will then be able to make!
Think Positively & Welcome Your Problems
Think positively - To succeed in life, you need to think positively about yourself and your chances for success. In his popular gold record The strangest secret, Earl Nightingale says that if you think positively you will get positive results, and if you think negatively you will get negative results. How right is he! This magnificent universe operates in a positive framework according to the laws of God so if you think positively you will earn the cooperation of the forces of the universe.
Welcome your problems – See the good in obstacles; as you work your plan, you are likely to face problems but that should not make you to give up. Countless philosophers have said that every failure (or problem) has the seed of an equivalent good in it. Learn to see the good in problems and if you are a religious person pray for the ability to see the good in every problem when it arises. This attitude will help you to make your problems work for you, and not against you.
You now have many techniques that you can encorporate into your life that will help to motivate yourself into ACTION. The key word here is ACTION. All the motivation in this world will not do anything for you unless you ACT NOW. Trust these steps as workable and effective guidelines and implement them. The results will amaze you.

How to Conquer Your Fears
September 7, 2010
Have you ever felt overwhelmed by fear – so much so that it prevented you from doing something you wanted to do? Believe it or not, this is a common problem faced by many people daily.
Fear has the power to hold you back from taking risks, following your dreams, or becoming successful at anything you attempt to do. If you allow it to control you for long enough, it can eventually erode your quality of life and keep you locked in a prison of inactivity.
What many people fail to realize is that fear is nothing more than a conditioned response. It’s a natural reaction to a frightening or unfamiliar situation. While it is usually automatic, there are things you can do to overcome it.
1) Check your expectations.
One major contributor of fear is the prevalence of negative expectations. Do you usually find yourself expecting the worst in every situation? Do you worry obsessively about what could go wrong, rather than focusing on your strengths and capabilities?
If you make a conscious effort to expect the best, see the positive side of each situation and keep reminding yourself that you can handle more than you often think, you’ll find yourself with much less fear to deal with. Even if feelings of fear do manage to creep into your consciousness, you’ll still be able to keep them in perspective and balance them against an underlying sense of confidence.
2) Discredit your fears.
Experts will tell you that the majority of things you fear will never come to pass anyway. While this may be true, it sure doesn’t feel that way when fear has a chokehold on you! However, if you look a little more closely at your fears when they arise, you may be able to dismiss at least a few.
For example, if you have a fear of public speaking and your boss wants you to give a presentation at work, you might feel like your life (and perhaps your livelihood) is on the line. You may fear getting fired, or worry that your colleagues will lose respect for you if you don’t do a good job.
But is any of this likely to happen? In most cases, no. Rather than worrying about what “might” happen if you don’t give a solid presentation, you might brainstorm ways to help improve your performance, such as being well prepared, practicing your delivery on friends and family members, writing notes to yourself and so on.
3) Do the very thing you fear.
When you remember that fear is simply a feeling, it loses much of its power. It can’t harm you and except in truly threatening situations you can choose to ignore it and move forward anyway.
If you weigh the pros and cons in any situation, you may decide that the possibility of negative consequences is minimal so there’s nothing to stop you from ignoring your fear and going for it! This will be determined by you on a case by case basis, of course. The point isn’t to become reckless with your decision-making but rather to empower yourself to know when a fear is groundless and easily overcome.
